LCSC Safety Award Winners Honored

The Lake County Safety Council is proud to present the Annual LCSC Awards Banquet on Friday, April 20.

The 2012 event will recognize more than 135 companies and organizations for their outstanding safety efforts in 2011.

The LCSC, in conjunction with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Division of Safety and Hygiene, will be presenting more than 200 awards in four categories to 138 companies.

The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites LaMalfa, with registration beginning at 11 a.m.

The special recognition awards presentations will be conducted by Carol Morrison, manager of outreach programs and services for the BWC.

The cost of the event is $20. This is a PRE-REGISTRATION and PRE-PAY event and reservations may be made online at the LCSC web site listed below.

Aexcel Corporation Receives Safety Innovations Award

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation has recognized Aexcel Corporation with the "People's Choice" award.

The presentation was made at the BWC's annual Safety Congress and Expo in March. The "People's Choice" award was part of the BWC's first Safety Innovation Awards competition.

The employers were nominated for excellence in introducing safety innovations to keep their workers safe and healthy on the job.

The safety innovations awards are new to the Ohio Safety Congress. Safety congress attendees voted for the "People's Choice" awards presented in several categories. The criteria included simplicity, cost savings, risk reduction, innovation and presentation.

Aexcel received the award in the innovation category for implementing the most innovative solution preresenting the creation of a better, safe work design.

Aexcel manufactures and sells traffic paints, safety coatings, road marking products and concrete sealers that are applied to highways, streets and parking lots.
