BWC Re-Instates Partial Rebate System for Group Rated Companies

In mid-June the Bureau of Workers' Compensation Board of Directors approved Administrator/CEO Stephen Buehrer's proposal to allow group-experience employers to participate in the FY12 safety council rebate program.

Group-experience rating program employers who meet program eligibility requirements in one of the 81 BWC-sponsored safety councils can earn a two (2) percent performance bonus rebate.

To earn this performance bonus, these employers must reduce either the severity or frequency of injuries in their workplace by 10 percent or maintain both at zero.

Employers NOT enrolled in a group-experience rating program can get a two (2) percent participation rebate on their premium. To earn this rebate the employers must meet program eligibility requirement.

In addition they also can earn the additinal two (2) percent performance bonus. To earn this performance bonus, these employers must reduce either the severity or frequency of injuries in their workplace by 10 percent or maintain both at zero.
